 Saturday Night

It's Saturday night * everything's all right * hanging with your friends with out a worry in the world * but your perception's changing * thoughts are rearranging * what are you going to do * out comes the alcohol * you stumble then you fall * as you reach for another glass * things are getting hazy * situation's getting crazy * what have you done * it's ok, we all make mistakes * I know you didn't mean to, but you did it all the same * thoughtless rational has its consequences * stop! next time temptation overwhelms you * a moment of pleasure * evident forever * a young girl with an eight pound burden * now she hangs her head in shame * as she walks the halls again * was it really worth it * it's ok, we all make mistakes * I know you didn't mean to, but you did it all the same * thoughtless rational has its consequences * stop! next time temptation overwhelms you * feel free to live your life on your own * it's just a little harder * to look your God in the face when you're done *

 Stand Up

Stand up * face the crowd * wave your hand * you've made your mother proud * now sit back down * you've been recognized * for your achievement * in the public's eye * but I * I see through you * I know your heart, I know your mind * for I wish that they were mine * but you * hide them beneath a veil * and always seems to prevail * in keeping me away * run away run astray * I can't control you don't want to * but I wish that I could make you * stay here with me * I gave you paradise * I gave you my own child's life * and yet you choose to look away * I showed my love * I showed my wrath * my miracles, unsurpassed * and yet you waste another day * Proclaim me * before thousands * deny me * before yourself * and the shelf that you've * laid me on * has grown dusty * as time passes on * do you think I'm too intrusive * into a life which I created * am I a burden on your shoulders * instead of a blessing to your soul * am I a skeleton in your closet * waiting for that rainy day * that will never come * I gave you paradise * I gave you my own child's life * and yet you choose to look away * I showed my love I showed my wrath * my miracles, unsurpassed * and yet you waste another day *

 Take that Chance

Say you're afraid to live for Jesus * only because what people will say * they'll point their fingers and laugh in your face * He wasn't laughing when He took your place * take that chance * live a different life * go against the grain somehow * I know the intimidation * can often times be overwhelming * but go on * go on * go on and take that chance * you say you love him * I say you're lying * cause you never speak His name * you say you want the best of both worlds * but a house divided cannot stand, so * take that chance * live a different life * go against the grain somehow * I know the intimidation * can often times be overwhelming * but go on * go on * go on and take that chance * I promise if you give Him a few days * you'll never want to go back to your old ways * take that chance * live a different life * go against the grain somehow * I know the intimidation * can often times be overwhelming * but go on * go on * go on and take that chance *

 Fill

The sunlight shines through the trees * and Your voice is carried on the gentle breeze * I close my eyes * and I open my heart * as I try to imagine You * watching, waiting * Your beauty surpassing my wildest dreams * my deepest thoughts could never imagine this * I could never imagine this * only You could imagine this * You are everything * You are my everything * and I want to praise Your name * I want to lift high Your name * I want to sing Your name * surround me with Your presence * consume me with You holiness * love me, hold me * fill me with Your joy * fill me with Your light * fill me with Your truth * fill me with everything You are * fill me with everything You are * fill me with everything * You are everything * You are my everything * and I want to praise Your name * I want to lift high Your name * I want to sing Your name * when peace finds you * let love remind you * that it's all about the power * it's all about the mercy * it's all about the grace of God *

 Irony

Sit before a microphone and a headset * the microphone's been left behind * listen for the answers * that the radio finds * scale the ladder laid before you * rise to the top of this corporation * climb the rope that slowly unravels * don't turn away out of desperation * rising waters approach the shore * a tide comes in without a sound * retreat to your picket fence * you've found comfort on higher ground * sit high on your picket fence * you're gonna fall * Isn't it ironic * how you're famous for your forgeries * isn't it ironic * how you went to judge from hung juries * isn't it ironic * you're a visionary too blind to see * just what you're causing * these people to believe * solemn faces paint the picture * gray sky morning * calms sea beneath the red sky * sailors take warning * too afraid to claim the checkmate * too ashamed to show defeat * apathetic of the conclusion * but you're sitting on the edge of your seat * sitting on the edge of your seat * you're gonna fall * Isn't it ironic * how you're famous for your forgeries * isn't it ironic * how you went to judge from hung juries * isn't it ironic * you're a visionary too blind to see * just what you're causing * these people to believe * and that's all they'll ever see * is the irony * in our Christianity * as a result of our hypocrisy * and that's all they'll ever see * is the irony * in our Christianity * as a result of our hypocrisy * isn't it ironic

 Undefined Figures

The air is cold and the ground is damp * as we tell stories never before told * where is the sky, where are the trees * pain in my back, I fall to my knees * I pray to you to lift up this fog * that has fallen upon me * trapping me under its density * I can struggle no more * my strength is gone and my health is poor * this road goes nowhere * there is no escape * the fields are empty in this barren landscape * the trees are bare * they've been stripped of there bark * the only sound is a lonely meadowlark * we are undefined figures * in a faded world * dancing an unknown dance * as if in a heavy trance * a lonely bird sings it song * watching us all along * we are undefined figures * in these many shades of gray * you lift up this curtain * of sinful deeds * you lift me up I no longer live in need * you keep me safe from the beast of hate * I need you in my heart * is it too late * you show me the world * you show me the light * I rise through the clouds * like a windblown kite * we are undefined figures * in a faded world * dancing an unknown dance * as if in a heavy trance * a lonely bird sings it song * watching us all along * we are undefined figures * in these many shades of gray * the lines are clearer * the sky is bright * I no longer live in fear or fright * the dance I once knew is so foreign to me now * and I look back to the fog and I see the figures * dancing the dance I once knew * I want to go back and feel the absence of my mind * but I can't, I won't, 'cause I have you * we are undefined figures * in a faded world * dancing an unknown dance * as if in a heavy trance * a lonely bird sings it song * watching us all along * we are undefined figures * in these many shades of gray *

 Discerning Hands

Golden pastures, blue sky above * with innocent giggles child rolls to his back * to watch the clouds with blameless eye * that reflect the sky above * animals and shapes he sees * in the clouds floating overhead * little does he understand them * shaped by discerning hands * they push gently and mold with care * all the things we fail to understand * are shaped by discerning hands * child grows into man, entering a godless world * he's known heartache and love the same * each morning he wakes he faces a struggle * still his days are shaped by discerning hands * oh how he waits at night, holding the vigil * So alone he waits for he knows not what * All he knows is something is out there * (longing, loving) waiting for him to recognize the touch * they push gently and mold with care * all the things we fail to understand * are shaped by discerning hands * oh how God loves us so * He knows what we can't know * and so He guides the lives we misunderstand * all these things are shaped by discerning hands * they push gently and mold with care * all the things we fail to understand * are shaped by discerning hands * lying on his bed feeling time slip away * his grandson cries to him, begging him to stay * he smiles and shuts his eyes and with his last breath he sighs * don't be afraid, someday you'll understand * I'm not being taken, I'm being led * I'm being led by discerning hands *
